Module 8: Survival & Bushcraft

Module 8 covers skills, knowledge, and tools that you need for emergencies in the great outdoors. We cover not only what skills and tools you need, but the philosophy on how to learn and be more ready today than you were yesterday. Survival and bushcraft skills have evolved over the years, but the mentality and skillset runs deep. There are infinite survival scenarios we could find ourselves in from getting lost, to spraining an ankle in the woods, to avalanches. We can’t prepared for the specific scenarios we might face but we can equip ourselves with the tools and knowledge to adapt and overcome.

  • How to prioritize survival needs based on the Rule of 3’s: Surviving an emergency situation requires proper prioritization, which requires an understanding of threats.

  • The Readiness Formula: Learn the Readiness Formula and how that can be applied to every aspect of your life.

  • Proper gear selection and implementation into your loadout. One of the biggest questions is “What gear should I get?” We review the process for gear selection and implementation.

  • Survival Mindset: Key points in developing a mindset and how to train for emergency situations.

  • Understand violence. Gaining a true understanding of violence will help prepare you to survive violence.
